COMMUNITY OUTREACH

WELCOME

A Service Revolution in the City is not an event, it is a culture. We know that infusing this culture into the DNA of the church will change the way we see the world and the perspective we have of the needs of the people around us. We hope that this wave of service will produce a movement that runs throughout the entire Body of Christ and that an army of people will rise up willing to accept this mandate. In this way we want to pro-actively reach out to the lost, forgotten, and those with the fewest resources in order to share a God who is passionately in love with them. We stand ready with one heart saying, “I am going to serve others and I am going to show them the hope they can have in Jesus.”

Seven principles that define a culture of service:

  1. We will no longer see a need and think in our mind “That’s someone else’s job.”
  2. We will no longer say “It’s too big of a challenge”, “There aren’t enough people”, “We won’t ever make a difference”, or “We don’t have the money.”
  3. While it is true that we cannot do everything, we will not allow that thought to stop us from doing what we can.
  4. We don’t want the people we serve to feel like they owe us something. If we leave them feeling that way, we have not done a good job.
  5. We want to serve without expecting to be recognized by others, since our hope is in an eternal reward.
  6. We don’t conform to simply giving a helping hand to those in need. Instead, we want to help them become more than conquerors in Christ Jesus.
  7. It is our desire to increase our capacity when it comes to giving and serving.
